Madrid I found is a city of lots of people.....lots of food.....lots of monuments.....lots of museums....and a ton of water flowing in its many fountains....here is just a sampling.....
This one is a classic....it is the Fuente de Cibeles.....
I have to admit it was very difficult to even follow in English the different sites that I saw on this one day tour of the city. But a couple did catch my eye...the first was the Templo de Debod.....
And...of course the Estado Santiago Bernabeu...home to the Realmadrid soccer team.......The #1 team for a lot of people Worldwide.....
An area I spend the evening on a leisure walk was the Puerta del Sol....here it is by day...
These are a couple of the other buildings that caught my eye.....but not by name.....
I did spy the U.S. Embassy hidden amongst the trees....
Then some random shots of things I found of interest....like this ornate street sign....
And the ever present Lion King....sorry....El Rey Leon...
and a cute dog....just there waiting for someone to play a game of catch....
The company that makes this meter has made a ton World Wide....recognize it?
And this dude.....he was in Australia and took my picture....here he is again....while I am trying to take a picture from the bus...he is taking my picture....yep that is me with the hat!!...
I know you may have heard the expression...I have eaten or drank so much I feel like a beached whale....well you can compare yourself to my photo.....this is what I look like.....
Okay let's call it a day.....I head off to Barcelona tomorrow. I took the day off today...and have tried (successfully I believe) to get my body back to normal. We will see once I hit the rails tomorrow.
My last shot from Madrid should have been my first. I love the quaint small streets and tons of little shops that are hidden in these streets. It is so strange since by night they all have metal gates pulled down..then about 9:30 all the gates come up to reveal these great stores.
Off we go......into the wild blue yonder....
