In and around Buenos Aires....

In a city of 3.5 million people there are many opportunities to shop...to eat....to encounter the unusual and to just hang out with the locals......I enjoyed all of that and more.

Shopping....the weekend markets are huge...going for blocks and blocks of blankets covering 10X10 selling everything from toys to clothing to leather to you name...you can find it..somewhere.  There are also inside markets - some devoted to antiques that are chuck full of merchandise....like these...

This boy at the antique market is very interested in the violin....he played for about 5 minutes....very good...very very good...

...stolling down the street I come across a ministry building being guarded by these uniformed men....love those feather plumes....

My favorite Harrods - yes the London store - closed their Buenos Aires operation several years ago....now just a monogram remembrance....

A little bit of Christmas was in the air....this was inside a mall area...

Tango is the national dance of Argentina.  Therefore there are tango performances in a number of places.  This tango performance was in a restaurant....the dancers....

Providing the music for the tango dance....

Meeting the tango dancers....

One night the hotel also had a tango performance...the singers....

and the dancers...

A city street scene on Saturday in Buenos Aires one can find a 5K run....

A group of re-enactment soldiers....gearing up for a parade...

Reflections.....

and this.....taking a break in the park.....the horsemen of Argentina....

A photo of the day?  But of course....this one....as if the statute is saying ...."psssss over here...man I am stone cold".....
