One last look at the Galapagos

It was a jam packed 8 days and 7 nights here in the Galapagos.  I used only a small portion of the 1,000 pictures I took here.  I would like to share with you some of those that just made this stop special and also some that I could not resist in passing on to you....beginning with how we were transported into the Galapagos....on a crowded bus from the airport....

....but going back to the airport on the last day....it was in the back of a dump truck (REALLY)!!!

Again....I have no intention of posting some 1,000+ pictures I took on Galapagos on my blog...I know you are all relieved of that fact.  But I would like to share some additional pictures to show how wonderfully beautiful and unreal the islands seem.  I do attribute it to the fact that there is a limited number of persons permitted on Galapagos in a year..and those quotas I was told are very strict.  The other thing I noticed is the true dedication to conservation.

So here at random are some of these photos I would like to share with all of you....enjoy....

A shot of the Galapagos from the air as the plane is getting ready to land at Baltra...

One of the many beautiful birds...

One of many giant tortoise....

An Iguana....

This is Diego....named after San Diego...it was that zoo where Diego came from to the Galapagos...he was in need of some of that Galapagos tender love and care that his other relative giant tortoise were receiving....

This guy was just beautiful........

A young crab...lacking the bright colors....

Another beautiful bird...unidentified, but almost like a crane....

A sea lion always ready to pose for the camera....

Yep...cotton...here on the Galapagos...

"You did want my best side....did you not? "

I am just dog tired....all this swimming, posing....I just want a nap....

This hill is a killer....

Come on down the water is great.....

Okay....everybody in.....

Are you talkin to me?

A blow hole on one of the islands....

Yes....my feet are blue.....

No....my mamma said you could not take me home.....

Yes....that is me down there among them....

Birds on the beach.....

No...not the snowman....just a chick....

Here I come....ready or not.....

Well...I could go on and on...there are like I said hundreds more....but I will end this with of course a photo of the day.  But first....I encourage everyone to put this on your "bucket" list....and should the opportunity every arise...go for it....you will not be disappointed.

My photo of the day.....is me at sunset.. totally contented....in paradise.....
